  •  Certainly the IRS should not release Tax Return (7+ / 0-)

information on any Taxfiler, but I'd sure like to see the statistics and raw numbers of the top filers (anonymously, but not combined).

    Total Income

    Adjusted Gross Income

    Taxable Income

    Tax

    Alternative Minimum Tax

    Tax Credits

    Self Employment Tax

    Net Taxes Paid

Wonder how many of these top filers don't pay any income tax.

Remember the constant hammering from the right on the vast percentage of people who don't pay federal income tax, so it is the poor rich people who carry the burden, which is really mean of us to do to them?

That statistic was based on 2009 taxes, where there were more people than average who didn't owe any income tax because (a) recession, (b) lost jobs, and (c) Obama tax breaks.

Someone wrote an analysis of this, explaining which groups in general don't owe taxes, and what happened in 2009 in particular.

As I recall, it was in that article—or linked to it—that I saw a chart with the percentages of people in each income group that paid no federal income tax.

And, yes, even the ones with income exceeding a million bucks saw a small percentage of people who didn't pay taxes. It was maybe 1.5% but still there.

Sorry I don't have a link for you, and it may not be the right kind of chart, anyway.
