    Hers was sigificantly elevated about a year ago, though I dont remember the exact number.  Her doctor wanted to put her on a statin, but her sister had had the bad muscle reaction and she wanted to avoid it.  She argued to try diet and increased exercise; he "gave" her six weeks or three months or something like that, and long story short it worked.  Her cholesterol went down to something crazy low compared to where she was, like 140 or something.

    Her diet hadn't even been all that awful, but I guess she's very sensitive to it.
