    Mitt has no confidence at all in his decisions, a problem that comes from lack of self-esteem. That's why he flip-flops; he has a pathological need to be liked by his followers.

    I believe he's just as thin-skinned as Sarah Palin, but Mitt has always been able to let his staff do the defensive dirty work. Palin feels the need to defend any perceived slight personally, but Mitt just shuts up and hands it off to a subordinate.

    Nixon did the same, and searched out the most slavish tough guys he could find. In the end, Nixon's paranoia became too much for even them to handle. If Romney is elected, I expect to see something similar in his cabinet.

    Right many are called, and damn few are chosen.
