  •  The story rings true??? (6+ / 0-)

I question everything.  Incompetence is not an acceptable defense or excuse.  These are allegedly "trained professionals."

Was this guy "trained" in your techniques?  You assume things that have not been shown to be true or ascertained with the evidence presented.

I could as easily say that it was green aliens that beamed him out, killed him and then beamed him back in, dead thus explaining the 'thud" they claim in sworn statements.

Noting they didn't hear a gunshot, just a thud.

The guy was left-handed on top of it and decided to use his right hand to kill himself with?

I'm not assuming anything.  I think, from my reading of the story and factoring the physical layout and what I know about cops, that the story rings true.  Here's my speculation: he's handcuffed behind his back, after an incompetent search, in the back seat and left alone.  He tries to get the gun out of his waistband/crotch: either to a) hide it, b) use it against the cops, or c) kill himself.  Struggles to get it out and in position to do whatever it was he planned to do and....either accidentally (a and b) or on purpose (c) shoots himself in the head.

Cops know gun suicide is fairly hard to fake.  There was a witness there.  There are probably vehicle cameras.  The guy doesn't seem to have been belligerent or violent.

I guess we'll see whose analysis is right.  I'm betting on mine.

it doesn't matter if it's hard to fake, there will be no investigation and no accountability.

Remember the cop who claimed to have "accidentally" pulled the gun instead of the taser? This is just as credible.

        •  The Taser story was laughable. (0+ / 0-)

No chance: I agree.  This one already had visibility, and will be investigated--even if it ends up being the feds that investigate it as part of a denial of civil rights appeal.
