  •  I'll believe in an Obama FLA win when I see it (9+ / 0-)

From 2000 to 2010, voters in the sunshine state have proven that they take a back seat to nobody when it comes to credulous gullibility. A reasonably astute middle-schooler could have told you that a criminal like Rick Scott would be an absolute disaster as Governor, yet 2,619,335 voters nonetheless marked "X" next to Voldemort's name. Combine that astounding gullibility with Scott's voter suppression machine, and an Obama win will be an upset in my view.

    •  Same thing happened in Wisconsin, (3+ / 0-)

and THEN they voted for Walker AGAIN in the recall. Note, Walker is currently considered to be the target of a state and federal John Doe investigation---believe me he takes no back seat to Scott when it comes to shady dealings, and Wisconsin has proved they don't take a back seat to Florida in gullibility.

And yet, Obama leads, by some, in Wisconsin.  Go figure.  You just can't call it based on who they voted for last time.  They call it a swing state for a reason.  I will not be surprised if Obama takes Florida.

      •  Michigan voters have their own issues (6+ / 0-)

Rick Snyder was elected because thousands of Democrats either voted for Snyder or sat on their asses on election day. In 2006, Jennifer Granholm got over 2.142 million votes, yet in 2010 Virgil Bernero got only 1.287 million, as astounding drop of over 855,000 votes. Since Snyder's vote was about 260K more than Granholm's 2006 opponent, that means that hundreds of thousands of Democrats stayed home, which directly contributed to Snyder's victory. The same thing happened in Ohio in Kasich's election—thousands of Democratic voters either voted for Kasich or stayed home.

Republicans are bad enough, but Democratic voters frequently compound their own problems. I have no sympathy whatsoever for any Democrat now suffering from the policies of Snyder, Scott, Kasich, or Walker if they didn't vote Democratic. The constant whining about the quality of Dem candidates is like listening to spoiled 8-year-olds having a tantrum because they didn't get a pony for their birthday. Go ahead and complain and work for better candidates in advance of the election, but on election day, wake the fuck up and face reality—Republicans are always a disaster, and sitting home, or worse, voting for one, is self-destructive in the extreme.

        •  Yes! I don't want to hear a peep from anyone (0+ / 0-)

if God Forbid we wake up for a President-Elect Romney, and it was because you stayed home when you should have gotten your ass ( and your friends and relatives collective asses) to the polls for vote for Obama.

If you want want to move the country forward, put in in "D".
