  •  President Cheney (none)
If Bush is impeached and convicted, Cheney becomes President.
    •  Are you sure? (none)
You're right, I did a little looking around, and it seems the Vice President or Chief justice presides over such proceedings...and I am only infering here, but it seems since the Presidents' cabinet wasn't created in the constitution, it only came to be through successive administrations, the cabinet goes with Bush, but V.P. is a constitutionaly mandated position, so you're right, we're stuck with Cheney and whomever he chooses as his new cabinet. But what would President Cheney be like, having just presided over the ouster of Bush?

      •  Look... (none)
...before we get impeachment out of the House (if that were to happen by some miracle), there will be a big push to get evidence in the House (and by the media, because we won't get that far without a public and media frenzy), and its quite possible that particular grounds for impeaching Cheney will be found as well.

Also, the cabinet does not go with Bush. They remain in office until the Presideny fires them or they resign. But there are a whole lot of grounds for impeaching other people in the Bush cabinet.

Anyway, realistically, if we get to impeachment, its probably early 2007 and we probably have a Democratic Speaker, so if we impeach Bush and Cheney, everyone else gets fired, anyway.

    •  Cheney (4.00)
So impeach Cheney too.  He's implicated in every one of these articles every bit as much as George Bush is.  If the Democrats can take over the House in 2006, and the impeachment occurs after that, it makes Nancy Pelosi the first female president of the US.

But do not reject these teaching as false because I am crazy. The reason that I am crazy is because they are true.

      •  Hastert would even be an improvement (none)
He was picked for the Speakership because he was less controversial than Newt.

Need to do something about Speaker DeLay, though.
