I have been in classrooms full of people who were absolutely not academics, and completely disinterested in being an academic.

Their retention rate is close to zero in terms of what they learned in the coursework, and they make it suck for the people who actually want to be there.

Working for them is the worst. You are left wondering; how in the heck did they earn a college degree? They seem to know next to nothing learned in college. Nothing sticks but the magic piece of paper.

More affordable trade schools and certification classes would be a good start. Save college for aspiring academics.
