  •  Why?? (4+ / 0-)

Obama shouldn't do anything for her. I can't stand these crappy democrats that act like republicans. She's done everything in her power to distance herself from the President. Its pathetic.

She made her bed, she better be able to pull it off. Obama doesn't owe her anything. In fact, maybe pompous Claire can get off her ass and support the president a little.

I get that she's better than Akin but if she's such a political genius maybe she can figure out how not to lose to a creampuff teabagger herself.

    •  As a general rule, I agree... (10+ / 0-)

but she is pro-choice, she is not anti-union, she voted for Obamacare, and she has never joined a Republican filibuster.  (quoting a fellow kossack from MO)

throw in the razor thin margins in the senate and contemplate mitch mcconnell as senate majority leader and i think it would be reasonable to expect obama to help her out...

      1. He likes her
      2. He wants to keep the Senate in Dem hands
      3. And because the creampuff teabagger and idiot Rmoney will put Missouri back into play

there is no distance between Claire and the President that those two political animals did not put into place.

The whole ploy to make Akins the nominee has the smell of a Plouffe/Axelrod scheme to me.

......doing stupid things of their own volition.  Please note how the populace of this state has been trending.  It's perfectly possible that Akin could win.

        •  They had a lot of help (3+ / 0-)

picking Akins, I was at Gov. Nixon's watch-party last night and talked to a score of Dem operatives who pulled a Republican ballot yesterday....

Once Akins stand on Medicare is fully aired the contest will look a lot different.

Claire certainly has her faults; staying away from the National Convention is one.  But you'd better take a look at the dumb redness that is much of rural MO, and realize what an uphill battle she has in this state.   It's not a question of political genius only.  It's countering the high quotient of teh stupid in this state, outside of STL and KC.
