  •  Not that I eat their crappy pizza (16+ / 0-)

but if I did, I would not mind paying even a $1.00 more if it meant all their employees got healthcare. Ultimately, I will recoup that dollar when my insurance rates and maybe taxes go down due to less need to cover the exorbitant health costs of the uninsured who need emergency or chronic care. And I can pay for it with the money I save on copays for the annual wellness visits for my family ($20 each in the past) and mammogram for me. It is not like we ate 100 pizzas (assuming a $1.00 per pizza increase) a year anyway. Not to mention the rebate checks, the money saved by keeping my adult son on my insurance for up to another five years, and not having to help my boyfriend afford care because he has preexisting conditions.

The real reason the pizza prices will go up is because republicans and the conservatives who elect them have stymied every effort to address climate change, and America has lost much of it's corn crop, making it more expensive to feed livestock. That, and they raise their prices on their craptastic pizza every year. And still don't pay a living wage to their employees.

Nice try at extortion though. I make better pizza in my oven, frankly, and for far less. Get a pizza stone and a mixer, and you can make awesome, fast, cheap pizza, too.

if anyone wants them. Or just buy the book "American Pie," and learn everything you need to know to make great pizza at home. Seriously, my teenage boys beg me to make my pizza and say it is way better than any delivery pizza (it is, though the sauce is not 100% perfected yet). Most delivery places don't even use 100% real mozzarella cheese. You can make three balls of dough in less than ten minutes in a stand mixer, hand toss them in five minutes each the next day, and they take five minutes to bake. Hardest part is grating the cheese (dont use pre-grated--has a coating that thwarts perfect melted stringiness). And never cook your sauce. It kills the piquant tomato flavor.
