  •  It will cost them considerably less and eliminate (0+ / 0-)

    the need for working groups, committees and voting on model legislation - it will already be written and those paying to get those laws passed don't need a group like ALEC's consensus to go forward with the legislation.  No more fancy weekends they have to pay for, separate wining and dining of hundreds of lawmakers at those meetings - lawmakers who are in the pockets of others, but have to be supported as a "team player".

      that totally repositions the group for the forseeable future.

      It's a "follow the money" thing.

      There can be no protection locally if we're content to ignore the fact that there are no controls globally.
