  •  FL-07 is more swingy but it doesn't look good now (1+ / 0-)

We have two Democrats running there, Nicholas Ruiz III who ran as a write-in for the Green Party in 2010, and law student Jason Kendall.  Throughout the entire campaign Ruiz has raised $34489.60, and Kendall has raised even less.

I believe you can win after being outspent: Patrick Murphy will almost certainly be swamped by West's cash but he has a good chance to beat him.  Still, you need to raise at least some fairly large amount of money to be viable.  Neither Ruiz or Kendall has done that.  FL-07 can definitely be competitive under the right set of circumstances, but it doesn't look good for this year.

But one, Mica is already 69 years old, and two, the district contains some bluing areas and a couple of cycles down the road, when Mica retires or starts showing weakness, a good Democrat could make it a race.
