  •  I wouldn't put it past any GOP secs of state to (18+ / 0-)

try and purge voters between the primaries and the general. We should keep a particularly close eye on any blue or purple states that may happen to have a GOP SoS.

    •  Totally agree. (6+ / 0-)

If we make a list of those states, is there a way to focus on reminding voters to check to see they are still registered?

      •  I'm not sure there's a way to do it effectively. (9+ / 0-)

I mean, sure, it's easy enough to post reminder diaries here and encourage people to repost them far amd wide, but we could still miss an aweful lot of people if the GOP did try to pull somethng like this.

I don't know what anyone else might think, but it seems one might want to double check their registration this month, again in Sept, then weekly in Oct.

I know that sounds crazy paranoid but the GOP has, time and again in myriad ways tried to and been successful at suppressing Dems' votes. I wouldn't put anything past them. Not a thing. They are desperate.

And states we think we have in the bag are the last place the GOP thinks we'd be looking for shenannigans. And they'd be right, were it not for this diary.

in a vote against our Governor. I wonder if that makes me immune to purging?

that stuff I would have considered wacko left-wing CT a few years ago is nowadays such obvious truth that it hardly seems worth mentioning . . . .

        in the last few years.

        The GOPs true agenda

The reality that there is no silent majority support for it

The reality that the only way they can push it is to game the system, lie, and steal elections

We're dealing with people, and I use that term loosely, who play entirely by their own set of rules. All sorts of things are OK for them to do, but not OK for us to do. The only way to win with these bastards is to keep looking behind our backs and calling them out on their shit.

IOW, when dealing with a Republican, if you're not at least at little paranoid, then you're delusional. :-)
