      I just shared it on my Facebook page. We'll see if any of my more right-leaning relatives read it. Especially one of my sisters whose husband's mother immigrated from Germany. Bro-in-law has worked his entire lifetime (he's ~58) for BP... as did his father. They're pretty invested in not changing a damn thing!

        I think there's something about Germany that appeals to a lot of conservatives. Probably because it reminds them of an era of American post-war greatness, because there's been a huge American military presence, and because ultimately, as I say, Germans are pretty conservative in the most true sense of the word.

        I'll also send this to my stepdad's family, many of whom live in Kansas, vote Republican, but have visited and love Germany.
