  •  I think most importantly (5+ / 0-)

we've got to keep pushing from the grassroots, all the people, organizations and businesses who are already invested in the shift need to keep broadening their scope and creating an atmosphere where it's just normal to innovate and think according to a triple bottom line. Ultimately, when you have a stable and broad enough grassroots foundation that has moved far into the mainstream you can start making the political case for a New New Deal (A Green Deal?) or something along the Eisenhower Highway project, something that's big enough that we don't have to keep tinkering around the edges but fundamentally rebuild our infrastructure from the ground up.

That's it in very general terms, a lot of kossacks have written great diaries about some of the specific details of both the grassroots movement and the big public works investment needed. And no matter how dire things might get with the effects of climate change, we've got to stay solutions-oriented and have a positive vision, because I think that's the only way we can get through this transition without total chaos and reactionary turmoil.
