      •  Months ago I heard North Carolina was (3+ / 0-)

chosen to demonstrate the Democrats were not counting 2008 as a one-off, that they were hoping the added attention would show NC the benefits of the Dems. Also, the DNC (in a demonstration of massive cluelessness) may not have believed just what assholes the Rs were going to be.

The fact that nothing changed there is beyond unfortunate.

The DNC moving their money is a good thing. Now, if they can follow Texas (TEXAS!!!!) in terms of have marriage equality as a plank, that would be great.

And in 2016, the Dems better have the ERA as a plank.

        •  YES (5+ / 0-)

I've removed myself from nearly all of the mailing lists, DNC, etc., constantly begging for money.

not one dime until we get some movement on progressive issues.

hell the DOJ can't even figure out how to prosecute Goldman Sucks, even tho' Lord Blankfiend obv lied to congress' face.

          weak.

        •  Nice gesture, but NC is still all about bigotry... (0+ / 0-)

of not only African Americans, but to every other minority group that "isn't just like them" in church on Sunday.

          •  correction: parts of NC (0+ / 0-)

urban parts of NC are quite progressive: Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill-Cary is super-liberal, as are Asheville and Boone.  Charlotte and Wilmington are less so, but still liberal compared to the countryside.  Your comment above is really only true for rural NC, and really not untrue for pretty much anywhere in rural America.
