... and I know it's not worth much, this news comes on a day when I received an email from Daily Kos encouraging me to switch my mobile phone service to Credo Mobile.

Credo Mobile is a strong supporter of progressive causes.  I'm on their email list, and I frequently sign their petitions.  In addition to a mobile phone service, they also offer a credit card, the Working Assets card; and a percentage of your purchases goes to good causes.

Back when the picture posted above of the cut up Bank of America credit cards first appeared on the front page, I was, like so many other members of our community here, moving my money.  I opened a checking account at a local credit union, and closed my Bank of America account.

I also wanted to cancel my Bank of America credit cards.  Having been on Credo Mobile's email list for quite some time, I decided I would apply for their Working Assets credit card so that I could cancel my Bank of America cards.  I filled out an online application.

Imagine my surprise when I received a call from Bank of America about my application for their Working Assets credit card.

So seeing the iconic and inspirational picture of the cut up Bank of America credit cards above, on the same day that I receive an email from Daily Kos encouraging me to switch my mobile service to Credo Mobile, with whom I already have a Credo Mobile Bank of America Working Assets credit card, kinda completes the circle of ironic circumstances.

    •  I have progressive friends not happy with credo. (0+ / 0-)

      Only Mobile AFAIK, but...

For the record, I am not a member of Courtesy Kos. Just so you know. Don't be stupid. It's election season. My patience is short.

i'm missing the recommend and hide buttons on this comment, and only this one. Weird. Anyways, have yourself a rec, even if this one won't count for anything ;)

Anyways, Credo Mobile runs on Sprint's network. And since Sprint doesn't resell their network for free, some of the money you give to Credo winds up at Sprint. I'm not sure where they stand on labor practices, corporate donations or anything like that, but keep that in mind.

Kinda like the Credo credit card. At the end of the day, you're putting money in the pockets of a big, evil corporation. You're probably better off getting a credit card through your credit union if you don't want to support 1% assholes.
