  •  I'm not disputing any of that (4+ / 0-)

and I'm certainly not defending it.  I am saying that if the Romney campaign hopes to sell Ryan and his budget to the American voters on the grounds that we've already adopted many Randian ideas, it's not going to work.

Most voters have never even heard of Rand, let alone have any idea what she propounded. The Democrats have a golden branding opportunity here, with quotes and even video galore that should alarm uninformed independent voters. Let them portray Ryan as deeply in thrall to this godless Russian immigrant who believed abortions were a necessary part of social engineering.

After we've beaten him, maybe we can get the Democrats to give some attention to getting Rand's ideas out of government. I'm not very optimistic about that, though.

    •  Not Obama's fight (0+ / 0-)

We do not need to Concern Troll to the wackadoodle Christian Right.

The Religious Right is making this case, as is Stephen Colbert. We need to stick to calling out lies and cheating, and the direct impacts on voters of Obamneycare vs. Romneyhood.

Hey, Mitt! Thanks for ObamneyCare. http://www.healthcare.gov
