Americans still allow capital punishment to exist.

Americans vent a lot of hot air about "pro-life" and "family values" but oppose paid maternity leave, vacation time, Head Start, public libraries, public schools, or any other program designed to strengthen family life or support working families.

The defined benefit retirement plan is dead in America. In its place, workers are at the mercy of unscrupulous financiers who manipulate the stock markets for their own personal gain. Medicare and Social Security are next. The next generation of elderly will be in dire straits not seen since before the Great Depression.

The majority of Americans oppose universal health care that is not tied to employment.

The majority of American "charitable giving" goes to causes and organizations whose beneficiaries are similar to the giver (think universities etc).

The majority of American foreign aid goes to buy arms and munitions or to support American corporations and agricultural concerns.

American foreign policy is based primarily on protecting American financial and strategic interests abroad and very little on the legitimacy of the regime being supported.

America, the country, is neither humane or moral.

It's difficult to be happy knowing so many suffer. We must unite.
