  •  I voted for Ben Lien, too (0+ / 0-)

to replace Morrie Lanning (who is retiring). Lien's only 29, but he has the Democratic endorsement and the other candidate's main claim to fame was running the Bluestem Center for the Arts (which sort of declared bankruptcy or was taken over by the Fargo School District or something). She didn't seem like the best candidate.

I agree with you about Tingelstad. Ewwww! His website, in case anyone else wants to see it, is here. It's all about how our laws come from God and we should fear the Lord and people who don't believe in God are confused and wrong. Yuck! This guy should never be on the MN state Supreme Court. He's running against David Stras (the incumbent, who seems to be mostly endorsed by Republicans) and Alan Nelson (who I voted for, because I figured I didn't want Tingelstad on the final ballot in November). Plus Nelson seemed to favor marriage equality.

Gildea is the incumbent Chief Justice. Even though Pawlenty appointed her to the post, she had some Democrats backing her. Both of her opponents seemed odd. One of Griffith's videos had the phrase "take our country back," which is a right wing dog whistle. And Jill Clark's website seemed really flaky (and very vague about everything).

And, of course, I voted for Amy Klobuchar. Who is winning handily (around 92%). I love her -- and Al Franken, too.

I voted at the Congregational/UCC church on 8th St. S. and 4th Ave. (which is weird, because it's outside the borders of the precinct by a block or two). Then I walked a block to the newly remodeled McDonalds and got an Egg McMuffin. It's becoming a tradition for me. Last year I voted at Trinity Lutheran Church (8th St. and 2nd Ave.) and then got an Egg McMuffin.

Nice to meet another Moorhead person. I hope we win in November.

But the angle said to them, "Do not be Alfred. A sailor has been born to you"
