    The power of one individual is useless against a functioning, in place, system.

    •  there are a few lessons in history that refute (0+ / 0-)

      that claim: a certain jewish rabbi who lived in roman-occupied palestine (jesus of nazareth), copernicus, gallileo, john locke, thomas jefferson, susan b. anthony, karl marx, martin luther king, jr., ghandi, mario savio, to name a few.

      and, of course, the idea of one person has no influence, either -- unless you count the reformation, the american, french, & russian revolutions, the us civil war, the civil rights movement, or the feminist movement.

      the plutocracy certainly hopes everyone thinks as you do: resistance is futile, so why even try?  

      it makes their job that much easier -- & less costly . . . less security forces are needed for crowd control/enforcement -- which translates to less expenditure on arms & ammunition, fewer detention camps to hold dissidents . . . yeah, it's always easier when people just accept the status quo & never challenge it.
