Is part of the problem. Part of it is the belief that if it's on the 'news' it's true.

But I think the bigger problem is the age of the people running the news networks and shows. They're almost all over 60, many over 70. Many don't have a journalism background.

And like most people that old, they really are tired of change. They just want things to stay the same for a while.

I can say this because I'm older, and I feel that way. I'm in a field that changes all the time, and work with much younger people, which helps.

    •  The problem is not age (0+ / 0-)

The problem is people who cannot or will not think or refuse to learn anything new. Whether it's the fear-mongering or just plain stupidity, it's not age.

      •  It's not ONLY age (0+ / 0-)

You're right, there are plenty of mentally lazy younger people.

But I've seen this in my older coworkers, and in friends that are my age.

You want things to be like they used to be. That's human nature. Not every older person is like that, of course.

The problem is that the ones are are happen to have TV shows and run the news networks.
