like question marks, and exclamation points, and proper spelling.

Its surprising to me to see someone arguing the pro-illiteracy point of view at Daily Kos.

      Pro-illiteracy? That's just being dickish™

I'm suggesting a little tolerance for those not as perfectly literate as the nit-picking grammar and spelling police.

I'd look at your own behavior, if you are so sensitive to dickishness.

        The original poster was quite
tolerant," and explained politely and correctly the use of quotes was inappropriate. And several others have too, nicely, politely. That is how people learn, if indeed, the author is erring because he's not perfectly literate.

But you replied by snidely going on about about how tiresome "grammar police" are. That seemed pretty dickish.

A number of people at this site do really care, that if I person is "quoted" it be an actual quote and with good reason.

I implore you (as others have upthread) to remove the quotation marks in the title.

This is no small matter, and has everything to do with maintaining and fostering the credibility of the left.

Even though others had pointed this out and politely suggested a change, along comes a person who implores the diarist to fix this or the entire fucking left will lose all credibility and it's all the diarist's fault if this isn't fixed.

Like this will encourage someone to keep contributing to the community.

Yes, it wasn't correct. This isn't Dan Rather nor the headline of the Washington Post, either.

To which I say, "So what? Can't you just chill out? Tolerate a minor mistake without the end-of-the-world nonsense?".

Others have already pointed this out. Why add another comment? Why not comment about the subject matter rather than focusing only on the grammar?

Then I get crap for calling out over the top and excessive, even somewhat demanding, nit-picking. And I'm pro-illiteracy? Really?

Everyone was polite until that comment. Then it got dickish™.

I'm done. I didn't plan to start a pie fight. But I can stop it.
