  •  Confusing proof and proposition. . . (0+ / 0-)

. . . is what is occuring here.

Aphasia is a sign/symptom of neural problems.  With a bunch more, you've got a diagnosis.  But not even a diagnosis is proof.

Searching for words is a sign/symptom of aphasia. . .etc.

I say Mitt MIGHT be brain-injured, and give more than a dozen reasons; I've never claimed anything approaching "proof," not even "diagnosis."  Still, I'm accused of "Fristing."

Others insist he IS an asshole - in the absence of any evidence - and that is logically sound?

I deny any such logical fallacies within this diary.

    •  Being an asshole is a general behavior (0+ / 0-)

I don't disagree with your proposition that Willard might be brain-injured. Others have proposed that Willard is an Aspie. Another proposal is that he's showing signs of Alzheimers.

There's plenty of evidence that WIllard's an asshole, but that depends on what one considers as characteristics of being an asshole. His likeability polling is telling. The more public appearances and interviews he has, the lower his likeability polling. There have been hundreds of examples to cite as reasons for this.

How does one "prove" that Willard is an asshole? Does that observation require some sort of rationalization? Does it matter?

What you see as aphasia others might see as a rhetorical device. A meaningful pause in speech, perhaps. There's no way you can hang your hat on this behavior as a neurological symptom. The whole list of reasons is flimsy at best.

So now you're defending accusations of Fristing and your arguments aren't being accepted. They're similar arguments that Frist made after he got hammered for his nonsense.

When you claim that other's aren't being logical when they say that Willard is an asshole, that's called a Straw Man fallacy. And a false equivalence. A fallacy doesn't defend your fallacies.

Best to not write such diaries.

Yours is a minority opinion.  But popularity certainly affords no credibility.  Still, I'm glad I posted it.  And I appreciate your challenges!
