  •  Just went through that for a refi on our mortgage. (6+ / 0-)

Citibank under hamp just offered us a refi from 5.875% to 4.5%. Not great but good enough. It's a rental and underwater. I was hoping to refi to our credit union when hamp was announced but nope. Anyway, the mortgage is with citi and the refi is with citi. Went through all the preliminary BS with them. Next day - we need a copy of your marriage license! WTF! We were married when we got the damn mortgage. We got married in '96. I thought it was in the little firebox in the office. Nope. I went into an absolute panic. I forgot about the bank safety deposit box we inherited from DH's mom & dad. And I forgot about moving it there. Can you imagine being married for 50 years, not having a safety deposit box and needing to come up with that document?  THAT is the R strategy to winning the election. Disenfranchise as many voters as possible. FUCKERS.

if a habitat is flooded, the improvement for target fishes increases by an infinite percentage...because a habitat suitability index that is even a tiny fraction of 1 is still infinitely higher than zero, which is the suitability of dry land to fishes.

for my work decided that we needed to verify the dependency status of my husband to make sure he is eligible for coverage last year.  We have been married for 40 years and this is the first time in probably 39 and a half years that we had to show our marriage certificate.  It was really weird.  We have been with this company for years, but suddenly we had to verify our status within 30 days or lose coverage.

But we didn't have any trouble finding it.

Not all those who wander are lost.

You may be able to get a copy of your marriage license from the state vital records office.
