  •  4 or 5 legal issues, not 1 (5+ / 0-)

    1. They aren't accepting applications for free voter IDs until 8/27, with NO notice on the website either!!! I don't remember reading anything related to the PA voter lawsuit that said PA had the right to make people wait for applying for voter ID... which will then mean less people get it in time. Is that legal? And then beyond that, is it legal to not note it on the website so applicants come multiple times (or worse, can't take more time from work/life, and don't bother to come the second time)?
2.They need to update their website with forms of payment. Same thing, they have this totally restrictive rule and some voters won't be able to come a second time, if the first time they don't have the 'right' form of payment.
    3. They are giving WRONG information, saying it is not possible to get a free voter ID to me. That DMV supervisor did not say I had an option to destroy my driver's license and then get a free ID, instead he said my only option was to pay to get a new driver's license and I had no right to a free voter ID.
    4. They are giving WRONG information to people trying to get free voter IDs. That guy I spoke with who was helping his dad, his dad didn't have a driver's license. His dad wanted a free voter ID, and the DMV told him he had to pay $13 (and he did).

So, more's wrong here than just 1 thing.

on such a glaringly obvous and grand scale that it's impossible that it can all be sorted out between now and November so the only reasonable course of action, if there is any interest at all on the part of SC justices in justice for PA voters, is to issue an injunction that prevents this law from being implemented for the 2012 election.

Your particular circumstance should certainly be reported to whomever will be arguing the appeal before the PA SC. That is very important. Your case seems to show that the ill-preparedness is, at least to some if not substantial extent, intentional which unless I'm mistaken is a previously unargued angle. If that arguement hasn't been made, it needs to be.

It seems curiosity has killed the cat that had my tongue.
