... who made the suggestion but it boils down to this: often, campaigns have to make tough choices.  It really comes down to how best to allocate resources in different areas.

After all - and as remarkable a job that the 2008 Obama Campaign did in enlisting volunteers four years ago - the amount of money raised and the number of volunteers signed up is still finite.

Undoubtedly, the 2012 Obama Campaign and allied groups are doing everything they can to fight voter suppression issue.  How well their efforts pay off will be determined on Election Day in early November.

AG Holder has said it is his responsibility to insure the right to vote. These laws must not be discriminatory and the states must prove they are not BEFORE enacting them. I am not an attorney but the federal government has a duty to uphold the Constitution and if these states are not following proper procedure in enforcing these new laws, then the AG has the right to enforce the Constitution.

In the sixties, LBJ made damn sure civil rights protestors were allowed to express their first ammendment rights with protection. He also used troops to protect kids going to school. Why is this issue less important? Am I missing something?

which is why I asked the question.

As I understand it, with certain states like Florida that have a bad record with respect to voting, Holder has more powers to resist new laws that deal with voting.

I am not sure whether this applies to Pennsylvania.

So I asked for a link
