I'm gobsmacked.  How does it come to pass that anyone so utterly devoid of the intelligence and capacity for learning that is the human brain rise to a level that such thoughts emerge from their mouths?

I thank you for reading that so I don't have to, and for giving us yet another insight into the utter stupidity we are up against.  Unfreakinbelievable.

    •  You are more than gobsmacked, you are GOPsmacked (6+ / 0-)

and those sort of GOP guys sure do feel good smackin'  women, liberals, the poor, teachers, union workers, and immigrants around--and they feel in their hearts such people do deserve it and do secretly want their hard core discipline.

Although now it's possible he misspoke and meant to say 'forcible rape' rather than 'legitimate rape', per his latest press release.  But that 'clarification' just make matters seem even worse if he's not repudiating any of the rest of his 18th Century mythology on women's reproductive organs and their proper abuse.

You'd think Republican strategists would wake up and realize they probably should get their troops to take a few steps back away from the whole attack on women schtick, what with women representing 51% or so of eligible voters and starting to take these insane rants as representing real GOP policies. But they just can't seem to help themselves from going to more and more extreme positions in a game of 'make it all taboo' leapfrog that now has them leaping off the cliff of human civilization.  This sort of 'leadership' is what gives cause to the rest of the world to regard the USA with suspicion and distrust, and as declining in many ways. If we are on 'moral crusades' allowing undemocratic and irrational oppression of large groups of our own people, that makes it so much easier for this to happen elsewhere and be declared equivalent or 'better'.

When life gives you wingnuts, make wingnut butter!
