    he was in the MO Lege for 4 years, and he's been a US Rep for I think 12 years. This is a guy who's used to being in power, who won't ever see himself in the same light as some dingbat that just happened to become competitive in a primary (I imagine from his POV that would be John Brunner).

    I think he stays, and I think you're right that NRSC & Crossroads will come back to the race, they won't write him off completely. McCaskill is still too vulnerable. But I imagine their contributions will be ultimately end up being reduced, at least, since they are very likely to downgrade their chances there and decide they'll get more bang for their buck in other races w/ better candidates.

    It'll be interesting to see if (as the funding from the national heavies dries up) he gets some sort of symbolic fundraising boost from small donors on the atavastic theocratic fringe.

    Hopefully all this means we'll get more polling out of MO in the next couple weeks....

      and like his primary win this time, he said his primary win in 2000 was "divine providence" or some such. If he believes God wants him in that race, it's going to be tough to convince him otherwise.
