    We have to be coldly open and honest about our tough NPK issues. And our natural gas priorities. The public is clueless. And so are most officials. Thanks.

      The gene -- called PSTOL1 which stands for Phosphorus Starvation Tolerance -- helps rice grow a larger, better root system and thereby access more phosphorus.

        crops too I think. Not sure about how it would apply to cyanobacteria in a green house that is not able to access otherwise unavailable P in the soil. I do wonder about the limits to this too, even in a field setting. At some point the plant that has gotten good at recovering P still may not be able to find enough.
