    dryers and other operational equipment eats up much of the energy produced in any well researched model.  A couple commercial sized operations would generate more fertilizer than is needed in several hundred square miles of farmland and that's after it's dried and trucked around. But with genetic modification of algae or of the cyanobacteria such operations may generate biodiesel plus some methane at $2.50 a gallon. This would require a multi million dollar investment in each operation, money hard to come by from banks when Natural gas is cheaper and republicans block all government spending on alternative solutions.

      Inversion is the enemy. We avoid its ravages. Biofuel's economies are very difficult to achieve, since you need thousands of gallons of water to produce a gallon of biofuel and  only 20% to 40% of your total outputs are the lipids necessary to make biofuel. We use about 95% of our algal production and recycle 85% of our water.
