    result of rape, a rapist's baby is a tool of the patriarchy. If a woman decides to bear a child, that child is hers. I'm pretty sure the rapist isn't going to claim that child. And this idea that the rapist has now widened our genetic pool with their DNA pisses me off. Fuck that. The genetic pool has been widened with the mother's DNA too.

    The idea of ownership of a child is fraught with bullshit. But calling a child the rapist's child when the woman bears and raises the child really angers me.

      It makes sense to rebel against the phrase "the attacker's child," to the extent that that phrase implies ownership, or even an ongoing relationship.

      I think most people would construe it, in that context, as referring only to biological parentage. It's possible that the alternative meanings have more power than I realize, even when they aren't construed as primary.

      What might be a better way to say it?
