    The Jacksonian era was when the "rabble" first attained voting rights. I think this was the first step in the evolution of the United States to live up to the "all men are created equal" words of the Declaration, an evolution that is ongoing, and I feel, CANNOT BE STOPPED.

    I firmly believe that the Constitution is a living document, otherwise, why do we have the ability to amend it? The 17th Amendment is a great example of that.
