  •  Akin gives Romney a chance to look "moderate." (1+ / 0-)

As I think about this, I'm realizing that I'm imputing the electorate with a subtlety of mind they don't possess, but doesn't this Akin fiasco give Romney and others a chance to look more moderate and hence more acceptable than they might have been before Akin's grotestque pronouncements?

And it gives Dems and even the MSM the impetus to focus on the Ryan record on the abortion issue while in the House.  Specifically the "forcible rape" language he tried to get added and his personhood votes.

There really is no light between Ryan and Akin, and if you take Romney at his current word no real light between Romney and Akin either.

      •  "Take Romney at his current word..." Nice! (0+ / 0-)

I really hope Obama blasts Romney's shifting-sand positions on all the issues. My big question for Romney is: "Why should we believe that what you say now is what you'll say next year, next month, or next week? Why should we believe anything you say?"
