    I'm so glad you liked our post, and agree with you that there are many ways farmers can benefit from simple tools, whether it be radio bulletins or simple rain gauges.

    The farmers I met mostly had good things to say about the government weather services they had access too. And you can be sure there was a (battery-operated) radio in every village I visited. A few of the farmers wanted more detailed weather information specific to their village or region, and a few  complained that the radio bulletins sometimes would say "Plant maize once you get NN-millimeters of rainfall" but some villages didn't have a rain gauge to know how much rain fell! So there is certainly room for improvement....
