  •  The Mitt Romney candidacy and the Ryan (11+ / 0-)

pick as vp candidate increasingly are leading me to believe that Big Fossil and Big Energy is very well aware of just how dangerous the rapid growth of renewables and the rapid drop in cost of renewables is to their ungodly ponzi profit schemes.  I wrote a diary earlier today about just how fast solar power is growing in the U.S.:

The very rapid growth highlighted in that diary, along with the steady continuation in wind power installations has got to be making Big Fossil CEO's very nervous and they're obviously slamming all they can into defeating Obama and Dems as it will likely be too late for them to stop the rapid acceleration of renewables by the time the next presidential election rolls around.

I don't see an explanation that explains how brazen and open they are being in trying to outright buy U.S. democracy other that they are attempting to slam the brakes hard on renewables before they become an existential threat to their profits.

    •  I don't think they're trying to hide... (4+ / 0-)

...anything anymore, at all. From the tax plan, to "voucher-ization" of Medicare, to rape and abortion stances to this....they just aren't hiding anymore.

The Republicans are now being forced to lay all the once closely-held ideals of the party bare, as modern social media no longer allows them to do any thing else. I think somewhere, some R strategist came to the conclusion they could no longer hide, so may as well just get everything out there.

paranoid lately. But I have to totally agree with your argument. With all the advertisements from Big Oil and Gas, they have to be panicking to a certain extent. We have a proliferation of "wind farms" around NYS. Hell, I've thought of putting something up in my own back yard (my wife would kill me if I did).

It almost makes you wonder if "controlled" fusion reactors haven't been suppressed by the Oil/Natural Gas cartels.
