  •  I am not bad off by any stretch , but (4+ / 0-)

I have found myself not going out as much and learning how to cook from scratch. Also I have found myself not buying vegatables at Whole Foods(which I love) but going to the farmer's market nearby. I know first world problem but I have managed to cut my weekly grocery bill in half. Which helps in saving for a house and rainy day.

my husband and I kept the people fed in a small trailer park by "raiding" one local grocery store dumpster.

Gives you a better idea of how much gets thrown away.   And why don't more stores donate to food banks?  Because one got sued once because someone found a syringe in a dumpster.

night manager at a local Wendy's I made a deal with about 10 homeless guys, they were drunks not mentally ill, I told them that at the end of the shift if they didn't harass our clients I would cookup and give them all our leftovers.
