  •  On the other hand (none)
I suppose the STate Department may not have possession of the transcripts themselves, in which case the transcripts could not be produced by State.

    Anyone care to clarify?

    •  Blumenthal says State "holds" them (none)
"Both Republican and Democratic senators have demanded that the state department, which holds the NSA intercepts, turn them over to the committee."

    •  Whether State has them or not (none)
Condi is already on record as telling State not to give up anything that might hurt Bolton and Lugar is on record as telling State they don't need to comply with all of Biden's requests.
      •  And Lugar is on record -- we all saw it -- (4.00)
in the CSPAN hearing, at the end, as saying that he would help the Dems get hold of these.

He is really in a fix.

    •  During the Carl Ford testimony session (none)
I think I recall the question  of the 10-12 intercept requests Bolton made being raised by someone on the Dem side, with the suggestion that the Committee should request them.

At that time the Dems reminded Luger of the fact that Bolton, during the prior session, had said that he had nothing to hide, and Bolton had called upon State to release any/all materials the committee wished to review.

    •  ...THEN AGAIN, (none)
