"Sometimes you have a PR problem, and sometimes you just have a problem."

Or, put another way, and perhaps more relevant here, the greatest marketing campaign in the history of ever still won't sell a shit product.

The shittily run campaign is the least of their problems. It goes to the root - the product sucks.

    •  Largely, yes. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad they're (1+ / 0-)

      fumbling around like idiots.

But it makes one wonder, was Bain's/Romney's success actually attributalbe to any genuine talent/business acumen, rather to a rigged game and backroom dealing.

Some might see no difference, but I believe there are at least some laws on the books that say otherwise.

Probably some combination of the two. He's not a complete moron, but I have no doubt his success is largely attributable to other factors, the rigged game, the creative accounting, etc.

        •  He may be closer to being a complete moron than (1+ / 0-)

          we've been willing to acknowledge.

He was born into privilege, not just wealth, son of a big name CEO and then governor.

Born into a faith tradition that favors males and one that elevated him in particular as a chosen one, destined to become president, treated with kid gloves.

So I think he's been given a big fat pass that had circumstances been different he likely wouldn't have. He's just been lucky enough to have every advantage including teams of buffers, protectors, and surrogates.

      •  You gotta have money to make money (0+ / 0-)

And Mitt started with a LOT of money.

        •  Yeah, but I don't think there was any skill or (0+ / 0-)

much actual work at all in attaining that money. He was an extraordinarily privileged young man. He couldn't lose because the deck was always stacked in his favor. Mitt did not succeed in business in the way others succeed in business. Mitt never built shit.

That's what I was trying to say: It's easy to get ahead in a field where wealth gives you a leg up if you start from a position of wealth.

            •  Got. I thought you were implying he in some way (0+ / 0-)

earned the money he started Bain Capital with. It appears we're in agreement, maybe not, but it's my contention he's never earned anything for himself.

            •  Sorry, I can't be objective about this, this worm. (0+ / 0-)

I despise him and his kind.
