for disaster all the time, Gutterboy.

Yes, it's unseemly to admit to Schadenfreude.  Yes, it's not nice to make snarky comments back to the very Republicans who say that God sends natural disasters as punishment for cities tolerating gay people, feminism, abortion, critical thinking, etc.

But people need to vent sometimes.  There are times to tell them to behave, and times to let them vent.

That's one more thing to add to my long list of small problems. --my son, age 10

    •  Apparently some here do too. (0+ / 0-)

Except you're not making them back to those people. You're making them to the people whose lives may be upended by the disaster.

If Isaac goes to New Orleans, it's going to the place on the Gulf Coast that is most sympathetic to gay people, feminism, abortion and critical thinking. Does that make a difference to you?

But people need to vent sometimes.  There are times to tell them to behave, and times to let them vent.
Heaven forfend the people on the Gulf Coast keep you from "venting" if it's that important. We all have our priorities.
      •  The point is that nobody here wishes disaster on (1+ / 0-)

the city of New Orleans.  Nobody.  Nor on Mobile, or Panama City, or Tampa.

People here can be forgiven, however, for indulging in fantasies about Republicans suffering.  Those are abstractions, and people need to daydream and vent.  Doing so is not the same as hoping that in reality, good people in good cities get hurt.
