    I remember being a kid, and asking my father what was the deal with unions. I'll never forget the look on his face when he sat down and told me. He said "every right that workers have has been gotten by the blood of a union man. Without unions we would just be a nation of serfs. There would be no middle class, because there would never have been enough good paying jobs to create it. And the fight will never be over. Join a union when you can, and no matter what you must stand with them."

    While many minority groups are the target for discrimination, few face this hostility without the support and acceptance of their family as do many glbt youth.
