  •  I'm not sure about that (none)
FDR's attacks on the Supreme Court and attempts to overrule it form a significant stain on his legacy.  Perhaps he's not quite as bad as Andrew Jackson in that respect, but attacking the Supreme Court and attempting to overrule its decisions is a very dangerous sort of precedent, and one people like DeLay are following.

    •  'Greatest' doesn't mean perfect (4.00)

    •  But... (none)
      ...he meant well.

More seriously: Yes, you're right, he did overreach in trying to accomplish his goals. And if he had been a healthier, younger man we might have ended up with serious problems, most likely around his fifth or sixth term. Given his high standing among the troops, he could have called on some serious support from the returning GIs, both at the polls and, if necessary, in more direct ways.

But that's just "what if". While far from perfect (much of his "statesmanship" stemmed from an incredible ability to lie convincingly), what he accomplished, and what he set in motion, compares to no president other than perhaps Lincoln.

And, yes, he cheated on his wife too.
