What we have here is a fight between the Ron Paul people and other Republicans who felt is was perfectly OK to stomp on the speech of a Latina from Puerto Rico because, after all she's not one of them.  It was perfectly OK to humiliate her in front of the entire United States.  They had printed programs and knew exactly who was in front of them.  They simply decided to trample on her as if she wasn't there because they don't believe she matters.  Evidently few of these Ron Paul people grasp the significance of concepts like "The Invisible Man" racism expressed by ignoring the person hood of the people you are disrespecting.  It's basic and more common than the cross burning variety.

The Republican leadership is in denial this week.  The monster unleashed four years ago with Sarah Palin, which they had kept chained in the basement for 30 years is taking over.  Those that don't fit in are welcome to get out.  Exceptions will be made for those who leave their community and agree to serve the economic agenda.

However if you're just doing your part, representing a territory of American Citizens, your presence may be ignored so a shouting match can be conducted.

So the Ron Paul people treated her badly.
The other Republicans compounded the insult.
And she signed up for all of it.
Degrading to everyone concerned.  This is what fighting for respect instead of love looks like.
