  •  I grew up in Bloomfield Township... (7+ / 0-)

...not B'Hills proper, but I went to Cranbrook from 1st through 12. (Ok, Brookside from 1-6, then Cranbrook).

My father, an arch conservative, sent me there (and my sisters to Kingswood) to save me from the threat of busing. Sheesh.

I loved the place (great architecture, liberal teachers, great arts education) in the late 70's and 80's. It's a great school - but, as a school friend from back then says, it is a snob factory.

If you grew up in B'Hills and went to Cranbrook, you have to do a little of work to understand how the rest of the country lives. Romney never did that work. He went staight from the Cranbrook bubble to the bubbles of Stanford and Harvard and Bain. Never stopped to take a look around. Pontiac (the mess that is pontiac) is only ten minutes up the road. I guess taking the drive up Woodward Ave. was too much work for Mitt. But, I don't think seeing Pontiac would have kept him from creating new Pontiacs wherever Bain shut a factory down. He is what he is. Shout it from the rooftops.
