    NWS Indianapolis:

...FLOODING POSSIBLE IN CENTRAL AND SOUTHERN INDIANA...

FLOODING MAY DEVELOP DURING THE HOLIDAY WEEKEND IN CENTRAL AND
SOUTHERN INDIANA DUE TO THE ARRIVAL OF THE REMNANTS OF HURRICANE ISAAC.
WHILE RESERVOIRS ARE STILL LOW BECAUSE OF THE DROUGHT...HEAVY RAINFALL ON HARD
DRY GROUND IS ESPECIALLY PRONE TO RUNOFF. THIS RUNOFF COULD CAUSE FLOODING
OF SMALL STREAMS AND WATERWAYS...ROADS...AND NUISANCE FLOODING OF BASEMENTS.

This rain may save some later planted crops, but the dried out, hard-topped soil isn't capable of fully absorbing so much.  The saving grace is that Remnant Isaac will travel slowly in a weak steering flow, so after a few days of strong moisture the soil may regain some absorptive capacity.
