sadly, has all too routinley come to be thought of as being part of the American Way. And, in reality, Koch/ALEC has never done more than take this propensity to the next natural level.

The problem, however, stems from the fact that they were finally exposed.

And now, caught in the act, they're no more creative than to fall back on the old tried and true "Who? Me?" defense.

Because that's all that they've got!

There can be no protection locally if we're content to ignore the fact that there are no controls globally.

American Dream - buying and selling influence at will, no legal consequences to face (they legalized all their previously illegal activities).

Problem is...for the conservatives and the GOP in general to prevail on "free-markets", "Individual Liberty" and Individual Freedom"...300 million others have to sacrifice their liberties and freedoms.  Occupy has shown us that Americans are nearly fed up to exploding with being exploited, losing their jobs while watching CEO's rake in millions in bonuses...eating at McDonald's and Wendy's while the 1% eat at the best gourmet offerings available...struggling to ensure our kids get a good education while legislatures continuously cut funding for schools and colleges - while the rich get richer off the profits from privatizing all education.

And of late - stealing the right to vote of everyone but the elite property owners.  Yes, in Charlotte, Christine Herrera actually told us that the unemployed and indigent do not pay taxes and thus do not qualify for public education, healthcare or the right to vote.  Only taxpaying Americans are entitled to those "privileges."

Yepper, the "Who me?" defense isn't working anymore, so they're gearing up for a major battle that will have them thumping their chests and assuming a gorilla-like posture to begin the "so what?" offense.
