    Rather, I think it is reflective of a politician, Rep. Ryan, and Republican Party leaders more broadly, that are the sons and daughters of privilege.  They have never had the experience of defaulting on a loan or the consequences that come with it - obscene and disproportionate fees, skyrocketing interest rates, inability to secure additional credit, difficulty find jobs or homes, phone calls and visits from creditors at all hours of the day or night.

    Without that experience and a personal understanding of the consequences (and without friends who have defaulted and shared with them the experience), it is not surprising that they are willing to play around with taxpayer money and the creditworthiness of the American people.

    It's amazing what people will do to others in the name of themselves.
