  •  Mitt's doing badly, but when was the last time a (0+ / 0-)

Republican got more than 8% of the black vote?
In practical terms, the difference between 8% of and 0% is about 1% of the total vote.

Better to have than to surrender. but wouldn't, for example, have been enough to swing more than 1 election in the last 40 years -- and the electoral college in that election (2000) didn't match the popular vote anyway.

    •  Another genius who doesn't get it (0+ / 0-)

Look at the shifting demographics.  Graham said angry white guys.  He's not just talking about "the black vote".  He's talking about women, non-white's(black, latino, asian, etc.), non-angry white guys, etc., etc., etc.

      •  Golly gosh, M. Einstein, I sure am glad you (0+ / 0-)

        brought that to my attention!

Holy Kaboley! How could I be so dumb?

On the other hand, if you would try reading the very simple english in my post -- and you know it's got to be simple because I'm just not that bright -- you would see that I was addressing Mitt's current position and not the future of the GOP.

          •  Perhaps you should try reading it. (0+ / 0-)

And -- gosh, I hope this isn't thinking too far out of the box for you -- consider the possibility that one can comment on something without addressing every aspect of it. Heck -- one needn't even address the primary point if there is nothing that needs to be said about it.

After, all, and this may surprise you --

            NEWS FLASH:

The main point is right!! The GOP can't sustain itself indefinitely on white votes alone.

I would have thought that you remembered 2008.
It wasn't that long ago, you know.
