    even though it has been years since I've worked under a union contract. I continue to pay because it is my way of supporting the moribund US labor movement. It is important to remember how workers' rights are protected by the unions. Strengthening unions will be the only tool on which the US middle class will ever be able to rely in order to rally politically and rebound financially.
