    likeable personality, instead of their policy positions, which one of the Republicans qualfies as the charmer?  Their plans are a horror story so they have to keep them secret, but I find their personalities to be pretty repellent as well.

      as far as they're concerned; we aren't really talking about how to "sell" a candidate to you or me. We're talking here about qualities of candidates that would endear swing voters. To be broadly appealing, presidential candidates need a certain folksy charm, which Ronald Reagan had, and so did George W. Bush (hate to say it), and that's why they won. It wasn't because of their policy.

      Now, Mitt Romney is a cold, cold S.O.B.. Nobody likes him. So, barring dirty tricks by Republicans, he won't win.
