  •  Whatever it was, it was despicable. (11+ / 0-)

And yes, I think Clint certainly did aim to make Obama sound like an angry black man. That was some real nasty business making it sound as if this president would use that kind of language.

But Eastwood couldn't succeed at it because Obama is not an angry black man. He's a tough, disciplined, respectful and smart black man.  And I hope he repays Clint Eastwood by beating the pants off Romney.

Eastwood was nasty and boorish.  Read an editorial by Michael Moore today in which he told an anecdote about Clint.  In short, Moore was on stage when Clint accepted some honor, and Clint said to him "Bring your camera anywhere around my house, and I'll shoot you on sight."  Everyone laughed, Moore nervously, and said Clint's eyes on him were not joking.

I've enjoyed some of Eastwood's movies, I think he was a particularly stellar director in his time. But I did not enjoy his performance last night.  Lost a lot of respect for him, and not because we disagree on politics.

"A typical vice of American politics is the avoidance of saying anything real on real issues." Theodore Roosevelt.
